abstract

the aim of this study was to determine the relationship of organizational commitment and job satisfaction with emotional intelligence of employees. the statistical population included all staff of physical education general dpeartment of lorestan province (n=50). due to the low sample size, the sample equaled the statistical population. to collect data,  the emotional intelligence questionnaire of salovey and mayer (1995), organizational commitment questionnaire of moday et al. (1979) and job satisfaction questionnaire of brayfiedl and rothe (1951) were used. pearson correlation coefficient and multiple stepwise regression were used to analyze the data. the results indicated a significant positive relationship between emotional intelligence and organizational commitment (r=0.580, p=0.001) and job satisfaction (r=0.550, p=0.001). also, there was a significant positive relationship between organizational commitment and job satisfaction (r=0.535, p=0.001). the results of multiple regression indicated that two dimensions of clarity of feelings and attention to feelings were significant in predicting organizational commitment and job satisfaction.
